Reduction of coal in district heating is profitable for power sector
Insights

Reducing the use of hard coal in heating, especially in the group of small consumers, e.g. households using this fuel for individual heating, should be a priority. This is due to the need to improve air quality in Poland. At the same time, replacing coal in these groups with other sources of heat would allow for the relatively short period of time to save about 15 million tonnes of fuel for the needs of other customers, e.g. the power industry or other branches of industry.
