Panel expert meeting | Shaping energy and climate priorities for the next European Commission and Polish Presidency in the EU Council

The upcoming European Parliament elections will mark a new opening in EU climate and energy policy. The new European Commission, which will start its term in the fall, will have to monitor the implementation of the Fit for 55 package, the revision of the electricity market, navigate the Union towards the 2030 and 2040 targets and prepare the Union for possible treaty reform and enlargement. In turn, the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, which falls in the first half of 2025, will be an opportunity to present Poland's priorities and vision for the development of the community for the next few years.

During the expert panel meeting i Brussels, together with invited guests, we discussed:

  • What should be the priorities for the next Commission in the field of energy and climate?
  • What are the most important issues that the EC should focus on and which areas should be reformed?
  • What could be the topics that the Polish government should contribute to the EU energy and climate agenda?
  • What can be expected from the Polish presidency of the EU Council?

Expert panel meetings organized by Forum Energii are held in a Chatham House format, by personal invitation.
